Last week I was invited by the Vision Council to attend the International Vision Expo East, which takes place in New York. What an incredible experience! While I was there I attended the Press Preview where we learned about the upcoming trends in eye wear for Spring/Summer 2018. Some of which was beautiful berry colors, ethnic patterns, and 90’s inspired small frames.
Vision Expo is massive! It is like a small 3 level optical city where vendors of all kinds get together to showcase the latest and greatest. The Gallery was my favorite floor. Here is where 90% of the glasses companies were able to show the world what they had to offer. I saw so many fun, loud frames! No longer is the black, large frame in style, instead it’s all about individuality and standing out! Each brand had their best frame selections to see, touch, and try on.
In between ubering back and forth from the Upper East Side to the Javits Center, I managed to take in the sights. I enjoyed walking thru Central Park, eating some famous Shake Shake burgers in Madison Square Park, and of course shopping on Madison Avenue. I had plenty of Blair Waldorf moments too, as dressing up is a must in NY. It creates a perfect pallet for showing off some glamorous new frames.
I can’t wait for the next Vision Expo, which takes place in Vegas! Yet, another excuse to get myself some new sunnies to show off.
